The Reincarnatus Corset Series
I am making the corsets for "Reincarnatus" a WONDERFUL modern/medieval mix band.
They have a theater show called Reincarnatus in which they start out in traditional medieval garb
playing traditional instruments. In the second part of the show there is a transformation,
a incarnation perhaps, to modern times, in which the same 5 women play with the
modern variations of the instruments but still playing traditional tunes (or slightly altered
to a bit more modern)
The corset I did for Renate (pictured to the right) is made from black spiraled brocade and red tapestry fabric. It features elastic lacing on the sides, so that the corset can actually expand. This is because Renate is lead singer and plays a lot of breath-instruments.
The corset for Joyce (pictured to the left) is made from black patterned brocade and green taffeta corset, with buckled shoulder straps and pointed bust parts.
Low back with two special straps on both sides for the sounds boxes. Laced green taffeta panels on front.
